Assessing the Effectiveness of the OECD National Contact Point System in Advancing Corporate Accountability in Southeast Asia: Case Studies of Bonsucro and ANZ Bank
This research evaluates the effectiveness of the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises on Responsible Business Conduct and its unique implementation mechanism, the National Contact Points for Responsible Business Conduct (NCPs), in addressing corporate human rights violations in Southeast Asia. Through two key cases, the study finds that although the OECD complaint mechanism has a role in promoting corporate accountability, it is most effective when combined with complementary advocacy efforts to secure justice and remedy.
